The mission of The International Research Collaborative on Anxiety is to advance scientific theory, treatment, and prevention of anxiety disorders and related problems, such as co-occurring substance use problems. To achieve these ends, our collaborative laboratory pursues a program of translational research integrating methodological paradigms across the continuum of clinical science - from basic laboratory-based experimental psychopathology to applied clinical research. The basic research end of our work is grounded in laboratory-based experimental psychopathology methods, involving modeling of anxiety psychopathology processes within the laboratory and multi-modal assessment across behavioral, cognitive, affective, physiological, and sub-cortical levels of analysis. Guided by our basic research, the applied end of our work involves development and testing of prevention and treatment strategies. In collaboration with colleagues and friends across the globe, our international research program strives to pursue our mission by means of cross-national and cross-cultural study and collaboration |
